An OS in an OS.
« on: August 19, 2009, 02:01:14 AM »
PyrOS. It's a project I'm working on. It's supposed to act like an operating system. Right now it's pretty basic, but I hope one day to make it real complicated and have lots of programs.

A pic:

All programs themselves are made by me. Obviously, the program in the front is a text editor and in the back is a media player. All icons are credited to their respective designers.

Maybe soon I will release the .exe for you all to try.

Notes:
- Pyrokid at the bottom is the name of my computer. It gets the user's profile name.

What I wanna add:
- Wallpaper
- More programs

Hm.. it's not a OS in a OS, because your's not a OS.
It looks like you're wrote a window with a few graphic buttons.
If you press on of the Buttons a new program starts that use the winapi.

Andreas, Delphi.

DMA, it's not supposed to be a real OS. It's just an app that acts like one. If I could truly make my own OS, I'd do that. :D Also, since the programs were made by me, I can use their source forms and add them to the main project so it won't show up as a seperate window. It's more than just executing another app.

You mean MDI Child Window. ;)
I know, but an OS is for me stand alone and don't use another API, but okay.
